Sources said that Ekure who was
driving a black Camry saloon car was returning from a family meeting to discuss
his father’s funeral at Eku when the car was intercepted by their abductors.
According to a dependable source,
the kidnappers dragged Ekure and Okpor out of the Camry car at gun point and
forced them into their own car and zoomed off in a commando style to an unknown
destination and none of them had been seen since then.
A source that pleaded anonymity said Ekure’s car which was abandoned
had been recovered by the police at Isiokolo, headquarters of Ethiope East

Another source close to the Ekure
family, however, told newsmen that the kidnappers had made contact with the
panic stricken family members, demanding N10m ransom.
The Area Commander in charge of the
Ughelli Area Police Command, Awosola Awotinde confirmed the incident saying
that his men were on top of the matter.
