A 25-year-old
angry Brick kiln laborer named Parminder Singh,
had reportedly chopped off the hands the young man who was accused of raping his seven-month-old daughter.
Singh is said to have
beaten the young man up, tied him to a tree,
and hacked off both his hands, before leaving him to die next to a canal.
The younger man had reportedly been accused of molesting the baby
in 2014, after allegedly being caught in the act by the mother of the baby.
Being underage, the Police had reportedly sent him to a juvenile
remedial home to await his trial.
On April 19, when the young man had been scheduled to make an
appearance at a court in Bathinda district of Punjab, Singh had reportedly
lured him aside with an of to settle out of court.
Swapan
Sharma, a senior police officer in Bathinda
said about the case:
"He
(the father) took him near a dried up canal, beat him up badly and then tied
him to a tree and finally hacked his hands off. Locals alerted police and we
rushed to the spot. We picked him up, his hands, and took him to the
hospital."
Sharma confirms that the young man is alive and in stable
condition, adding sadly:
"There
is nothing below the wrists now."
The police are said to be on a manhunt for him
and he will be consequently charged with attempted murder.
